PREPOSITIONS

Examples of Prepositions:
Prepositions that relate to location: “in”, “on”, “under”, “next to” (“beside”), “behind” and “in front of”.

Beware: Some words look like prepositions but are actually acting as the particle in a verb phrase. For example: “Doug puts on his diamond-studded collar for special occasions.” “Doug likes to sleep in on Sunday mornings.” “Doug always throws up when he chews on a rotten bone.” In these sentences, the words are NOT prepositions.
